What is happening

When closing QuickBooks, the following error is returned:

Detailed Instructions

  1. Click through the error message to continue.
  2. Check the names of customers and their company names in the Customer Center, and vendors' names and their company names in the Vendor Center. Visual C++ Runtime error, . Shorten any names over 32 to characters to 32 characters or less.
  3. Check your company file for special characters in the Other Names list, the Items List, and in any Units of Measure you set up. Visual C++ Runtime error, . A quotation mark ("), apostrophe ('), open square bracket ([), or close square bracket (]) character in the description of the item name, description, type, or account can cause this issue. Visual C++ Runtime error, . Remove these special characters if found.
  4. An open embedded browser page (within QuickBooks) may contain a script error. Visual C++ Runtime error, . Make sure all windows within QuickBooks are closed properly before closing QuickBooks.
