Support policy for QuickBooks for Mac 2009 running on Mac OS X v10.6 (“Snow Leopard”)
QuickBooks for Mac 2009 R8.2 is now available. . This patch is required to make QuickBooks compatible with Snow Leopard OS X 10.6.
To get the update, click the QuickBooks menu inside the program and choose Check for QuickBooks Updates.
Before you update:
- Back up your company file.
Before installing this R8.2 update, make a backup of your company file. . With your company file open, select 'File>Backup>To a Disk', and save a backup of your company file on your local hard drive.
- If your accountant is working on your file, wait until you get the file back before you upgrade.
If you’ve sent your data to your accountant, wait until after you’ve restored your file with your accountant’s changes using your current copy of QuickBooks. . Once the file is restored, choose QuickBooks > Check for Updates to install this R8.2 Update.
- Printing Preferences and QuickBooks Mac 2009 R7 Update
Our previous QuickBooks Mac 2009 R7 update had an error that affected printing preferences. . The error has been fixed in this current R8.2 update. . However, if you are updating from QuickBooks Mac 2009 R7, you may find it necessary to re-set some of your printing preferences. . Go to the 'File > Print Setup' menu to verify and/or correct your settings for the various forms you print.
Here is what has been addressed in this patch:
General
- Fixed a registration problem in the first version of the R8 Update that prohibited specific customer product codes from completing registration.
- Many improvements for Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6) including:
- Fixed registration on Snow Leopard.
- Fixed Crash Reporter on Snow Leopard.
- Fixed a crash that occurred in Receive Payments and Pay Bills on Snow Leopard.
- Fixed a crash that occurred when creating invoices with various customer/items.
- Fixed a crash that occurred while memorizing some reports.
- Fixed a crash after unchecking '1099-MISC' forms.
- Fixed an error dialog that sometimes appeared while importing an IIF file containing a large customer list.
Printing & Reports
- Fixed a crash that sometimes occurred while printing a preview of mailing labels.
- Fixed a problem where printing preferences were not retained after upgrading from QuickBooks 2009 R5/R6.
- Fixed a crash that would occur while applying some report filters in the Vendor Phone List report.
