New features
Ring up retail tips, such as for a hair salon.
You can add tips to credit card sales if you use our Intuit Merchant Account. release notes, new features, improvements, changes, what's new, . (You cannot add tips to debit cards, or if you use a different merchant service to settle your credit card transactions.) Here's how you set it up:
- Click the ADMIN tab then click Edit Cash Register Settings.
- Click the Payments tab.
- Select the checkbox for adding tips to credit card transactions.
Other information about tips:
- You can only include a tip for a single, completed transaction with a single payment method. release notes, new features, improvements, changes, what's new, . That is, you can't accept part of the payment from a gift card and the tip for that service on a credit card.
- A transaction can't be held open for the tip to be paid later.
- You can export tips then import them in to QuickBooks. release notes, new features, improvements, changes, what's new, . They're recorded as a single total for each day in the Employee Tips Payable account.
Ability to set up items with a $0.00 amount.
Add free modifiers, such as “no ice” for a drink, or “gift wrap” to a sales receipt.
Ability to export formats in .csv format
For those users who want to read their data in programs other than Excel.

Improvements
Reports:
- All Date Range selections work correctly in all reports.
- You can sort on the receipt number.
- All Paid In/Paid Out amounts now appear in the Paid In / Paid Out Detail report, even when no reason was entered with the transaction.
- Fixed several problems with exported report formats.
Exporting data from Cash Register Plus:
- Paid In/Out entries are no longer exported.
- You can't export the current day transactions.
- Cost of goods sold (COGS) data is no longer exported.
- $0 amounts are no longer sent to QuickBooks. release notes, new features, improvements, changes, what's new, . Previously they were sent as $0 sales receipts.Excel is now the default export report format.
Importing data into QuickBooks:
- Correctly handles a mismatch in the data, such as when a sale with a tip is paid by credit card but returned to cash or when a transaction contains a debit card cash-back amount.
- Transactions with no sales tax appear as sales receipts. release notes, new features, improvements, changes, what's new, . Previously, they appeared as credit memos.
- The correct QuickBooks accounts get updated when importing cash payments.
- Debit card transaction amounts are no longer included in a merchant account batch if the order is canceled.
- Credit card transactions are assigned a card type name, such as MasterCard. release notes, new features, improvements, changes, what's new, . Previously, these transactions were labeled as Other, making them difficult to track.
- Department name is limited to 30 characters.

Other changes
- When you add a new item, the information on the More tab is saved.
- Gift certificate items are tracked correctly.
- Cash Register Plus prevents you from accidentally canceling an order while processing a credit or debit card transaction.
- Change due no longer shows $0.13 when giving an item and order discount with a tip.
- Balance due no longer shows $0.01 after making full payment with a credit card.
- The cash amount now appears correctly in the End-of-Day cash tender category.
- The first user created after installation can now be edited or deleted.
- Items with non-default tax no longer get reset to default tax after being exported and re-imported into Cash Register Plus.
