Additional custom information is not being used by QuickBooks after restoring a backup file

What is happening

After restoring a QuickBooks company file backup (.qbb) to a new location, information such as loan information for Loan Manager, Financial Statement Designer statements, custom forms, etc. . are not being used by QuickBooks.

Only the default information is available.

Why is this happening

QuickBooks looks for these additional files in specific locations.

When a backup created in QuickBooks 2007 and later or Enterprise Solutions 7.0 and later is restored, it will include all the additional files in a folder called Restored_<filename>_Files, where <filename> is your QuickBooks company file. . This folder is in the same location as your restored QuickBooks company file.

  • Printer Setting(PrintEng.ini, wpr.ini, QBPrint.qbp):
    XP:
    \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Intuit\QuickBooks 200X (where X is the version year of your program)
    Vista/Windows 7: \ProgramData\Intuit\QuickBooks 200X
  • Spell Checker (spell.ini,User Dictionary.tlx):
    XP: \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Intuit\Quickbooks 200X (where X is the version year of your program)
    Vista/Windows 7: \ProgramData\Intuit\QuickBooks 200X

  • Financial statement designer(FSD clients, FSD data)
    Client files:

    Data files:

  • Cash Flow Projector (.CFP)
    Same directory as the company file

  • Business Planner(.BPW)
    Same directory as the company file

  • Image Files (files used in logos)
    Same location as company file\<company file name-Images>
