Important: You must have an Internet connection to sign up for QuickBooks Payroll.

1. Gather the information you need.

2. Contact the payroll service. A representative will collect the information and provide you with a payroll service key.

3. In QuickBooks, go to the Employees menu, select Employer Services, and then choose Add/Edit Services.

4. In the QuickBooks Service Keys window, click Add.

5. Type the payroll service key that the service representative gave you in the Enter Payroll Service Key field.

6. Your EIN is displayed.

   Your EIN and payroll service key identify you to the QuickBooks Payroll service and help validate your subscription.

7. Click Next. basic payroll^basic subscription, . A confirmation appears, indicating that your payroll service key was accepted.
