Back up your Outlook contacts folder

  1. Start Microsoft Outlook.

  2. In the Folder list, select your Contacts folder.

    If you don't see the Folder list, choose Folder List from the Viewmenu.

  3. With the Contacts folder selected, click the right mouse button and choose Copy Contacts.

  4. In the Copy Folder window, select the folder titled "MailBox—Your Name" and click OK. For example, if your name is Brian Cook, you would select the "MailBox—Brian Cook" folder.

    When you click OK, Outlook creates a new folder and names it Contacts1.

  5. To rename Contacts1 to something more meaningful, select it, click the right mouse button, and choose Rename.
