Register Mode: Ways to add an unmatched transaction to QuickBooks

This transaction appears to be a payment you made. It is not in QuickBooks yet.

To add the transaction to QuickBooks, you can either

  • Use a business form, to:

    • Apply the payment to a bill that you have already entered into QuickBooks.

    • Add other information to the check that you can't add in the register, such as the items purchased.


  • Use the register, if the payment is not related to any bill in QuickBooks and does not require items.

About the buttons

Add to Register

Copies information from the selected transaction to the register so you can complete the transaction and then record it.

Add in Write Checks

Opens the Write Checks window so you can write a check for this transaction.

Add in Pay Bills

Opens the Pay Bills window so you can use this transaction to pay an open bill.

Do not prompt me with this choice again

Select this checkbox if you want to always add unmatched transactions using the register instead of having the choice of using business forms.
