If you have a merchant account with the
Merchant Service for QuickBooks, you can enter and process credit card payments from customers. The steps vary slightly depending on whether you enter the credit card information manually or by swiping the card.
Note: If you are using an Accountant's Copy of a company file, you cannot process credit card payments.

This option is available only if you have
signed up to swipe credit cards.
Important: You should always swipe the credit card when you have it
in hand, even if you already have the credit card information from a previous
transaction. Only by swiping the card will the transaction be classified as
card-swiped and eligible for a lower discount rate.
