This screen appears if QuickBooks detects that the card you are processing
is a commercial Visa or MasterCard (for example, a Visa Purchasing card or
MasterCard Purchasing Card). When you process commercial credit card transactions with QuickBooks, it is recommended that you also capture and transmit
additional information referred
to as Level II data, which includes sales tax and in some cases
Complete the additional field(s) and click Send to process the
Confirm the Sales Tax Amount for the transaction. QuickBooks prefills this
field with the sales tax entered on the corresponding sales form or forms. For
non-taxable transactions, Sales Tax Amount is 0.00.
Why is sales tax collected for commercial card
(Applies to only certain types of purchases.)
Ask the cardholder for his or her assigned customer code. This code may be a
cost center number, project number, or some other classification used by the
cardholder's company for tracking and allocating expenses.
The code is alphanumeric and can contain up to 16 characters.
