How does Online Payment work? (Billing Solution)

QuickBooks Billing Solutions will be discontinued on 6/30/2015.

With Billing Solution for QuickBooks and Merchant Service for QuickBooks, invoices and statements can be paid online.

How it works

You can enable invoices for online payment whether you send them via e-mail, mail them yourself or through the QuickBooks mailing service, or fax them. When you create an invoice (whether you intend to e-mail or mail it), you select the Allow online payment checkbox on the Create Invoices window. Statements can only be paid online if you e-mail them.

Your customers can pay invoices and statements online by entering their credit card information in the Customer Account Center, a secure Web site hosted by Intuit.

Charges are processed through the QuickBooks Merchant Service. You will need to sign up for this service if you don't already have a QuickBooks Merchant Service account.

Keep in mind:

  • You can e-mail an invoice or statement when you create it, or you can mark it to be sent later in a batch.

  • When you print invoices selected for online payment, they are sent to the Customer Account Center so your customers can pay them online. Even if customers do not choose to pay invoices online, they can still view their invoices and statements here.

  • When you print invoices selected for online payment, they are sent to the Customer Account Center so your customers can pay them online.

  • The reminder that you have payments to download appears under the "Business Service Messages" in the Reminders list. You will also receive an e-mail that tells you how to download payments when you have payments to download.

  • You can download customer payments into QuickBooks by clicking the Get Online Pmts button on the Receive Payments window.
