Create a Workers Compensation code

Important: If you are just starting to use the Workers Compensation feature in QuickBooks, you must first set up Workers Compensation.

After you have set up Workers Compensation, you can create a new Workers Compensation code.

To do this task

  1. Go to the Employees menu, click Workers Compensation, and then click Workers Comp List.

  2. Click the Workers Comp Code button and then click New.

  3. In the Code field, enter the number for the code.

  4. In the Description field, enter the name of the job that the code represents (for example, "clerical").

  5. In the Rate field, enter the rate for the code.

  6. In the Start using rate on field, enter the date that the rate goes into effect.
