Turn off the Automatic Update option for payroll

Currently the Automatic Update option for payroll is enabled in QuickBooks.

With the Automatic Update option enabled, QuickBooks checks the service for new payroll updates each time you connect to the Internet. New payroll updates are downloaded gradually, when the Internet connection is not being used by another process or application.

Advantages of getting automatic updates

To turn off the automatic update option for payroll

  1. Go to the Help menu and click Update QuickBooks.

  2. Click the Options button.

  3. In the Updates list, clear the Payroll checkbox.

  4. Click Save.
