The E-filing History window shows a summary of payroll tax forms that have been e-filed. In this window, you can review a summary of each submission, view an audit trail of the transmission, and, if a form was rejected, find out why and what you need to do next.
The audit trail for an e-filed form lets you track the chronological sequence of status events that occur during a transmission. More...
To view the audit trail for a particular e-filing, click the View link next to the form. The audit trail appears in the Audit Trail window.
Note: This is not the same as the audit trail that QuickBooks uses to track changed information about transactions such as checks, invoices, and bill payments.
If the form is rejected by the agency, the agency returns a rejection code, a message, and a solution that's unique to your situation. Agencies might reject a form if, for example, you haven't enrolled in the agency's e-file program (if the agency requires enrollment). For information on form submission guidelines for an agency, visit the Payroll Tax Support Web site.
Click the Agency rejected link next to the payroll tax form to display the rejection and solution message. How to handle a rejected form.
