What's important about the Preprinted forms alignment window

The Preprinted forms alignment window lets you check to see if the text on your payroll form is going to align correctly with the boxes on the preprinted form. Test prints can help you avoid wasting preprinted forms.

  1. Load your printer with blank paper.

  2. Click Print Test.

When you click Print Test in the Preprinted forms alignment window, the printout simulates the text on your form.

  3. Hold the printout and the preprinted form up to the light to check alignment.

  4. Click Left or Right to indicate which direction you want to move the printed text, then enter the distance that you want the print moved. Use only positive numbers. Enter 0 if the vertical alignment is correct.

  5. Click Up or Down to indicate which direction you want to move the printed text, then enter the distance that you want the print moved. Use only positive numbers. Enter 0 if the vertical alignment is correct.

  6. Click Print Test to try another print.

  7. Repeat these steps until you are satisfied that the form will print correctly on the preprinted form.

  8. Click OK to close the Preprinted forms alignment window. Your adjustments remain in effect until you change them, so be sure to check alignment when you are ready to print a different type of form.

Restoring defaults

Click Restore Defaults to reset the printer to how it was set before any printing adjustments were made.
