Prepare the federal Form 944

You must have a Go onlinepayroll service subscription to prepare your federal Form 944 in QuickBooks. What if I'm an Assisted Payroll customer?

Note for Assisted Payroll customers.

Before you begin

Before you begin, make sure you have the right version of the form.

QuickBooks only stores one version of payroll tax forms at a time. To make sure you have the latest version, you should get a payroll update before you begin preparing your Form 944.

The federal government usually publishes updated forms for the upcoming tax season at the end of the year. The payroll service normally makes these available for download in mid-December. To ensure you have the correct version of the forms, download and install payroll updates before preparing your form.

Display the federal Form 944

Follow these steps to create and display your Form 944 (and Schedule B, if applicable).
