Turn off direct deposit for an employee

Note: If you want to do a "one time" reversal of a direct deposit paycheck, follow the procedure Stopping a direct deposit for one paycheck.

To do this task
  1. Go to the Employees menu, and then click Employee Center.

  2. From the list on the left, select the employee you want to stop paying by direct deposit.

  3. Click Edit Direct Deposit in the Employee Information section.

  4. In the Direct Deposit window, click to clear the Use Direct Deposit for checkbox.

  5. Click OK in the Direct Deposit and Edit Employee windows.

    Important: After you make this change, the QuickBooks Assisted Payroll will no longer direct deposit paychecks for this employee. You will need to print paychecks for the employee.
