Wages

If you select this checkbox, QuickBooks automatically prefills the number of hours worked during the current pay period when you write a paycheck to the employee. The hours appear in the Hours column of the Earnings section in the Preview Paycheck window.

Hourly employees: QuickBooks prefills the number of hours worked and multiplies the number of hours by the hourly rate to determine gross wages.

Salaried employees: QuickBooks prefills the number of hours worked, but prorates the amount on the paycheck based on the annual rate and the pay period defined in the employee record. The number of hours worked does not affect how QuickBooks calculates paychecks for salaried employees.

If you don't want the hours to prefill when you write paychecks, clear the checkbox.
