What are handles? (Layout Designer)

Handles are the square dots that surround an object when you select it in the Layout Designer:

There are eight handles in all: one at each corner and one in the middle of each side. Dragging a corner handle changes both the width and height of the object. Dragging a side handle changes either the height or the width, but not both.

When you select more than one object, the last object you select has darker handles to indicate that it is the dominant object:

Dominant object

When you perform a "make the same as" operation, all the other selected objects change to match the dominant object. For example, if you are making all the objects the same size, the other selected objects become the same size as the dominant object.
