These instructions are for changing the permanent record for a sales tax item. You also can change
sales tax item information for a single sale.
If necessary, you can change the sales tax name, description, and agency information, and make a sales tax item inactive
(if you no longer use it).
Note: If the sales tax rate for an existing item changes, do not change the rate.
Instead, create a new sales tax item with the new rate, and make the old sales tax item inactive. If you change an existing rate, it will
impact reports and transactions that occurred prior to the rate change.
To do this task
Go to the Lists menu and click Item List.
In the Item list, double-click the sales tax item you need to change.
In the Edit Item window, make your changes.
(Optional) If you want to remove this sales tax item from the Item list because you no longer use it, select the Item is inactive checkbox.
