The option you select determines the basis for your sales tax reports so you collect and pay
your sales taxes at the right times.
This preference overrides the accounting basis you've set for your company and for your report preferences (i.e., if your
report preference is set to "cash" but you select "accrual" here, your sales tax
reports will be accrual-based).
If you collect sales tax for multiple tax agencies, some of which require
payment on an accrual basis and some on a cash basis, select the one you use most often. You can change this sales
tax preference back and forth on your specific sales tax reports so you can view the
amount you owe to each tax agency.
