Can I invoice as I fulfill a sales order?

For example, let's say your company sells pens and pencils. A customer calls and orders 100 pens and 100 pencils. You create a sales order in QuickBooks for that customer's order. As you fulfill the order, you can create an invoice based on a sales order.

You can create an invoice based on a completed sales order or an open sales order.

As you invoice your customer from a sales order, the sales order will update to show you which portions have been fulfilled. Once you have invoiced for all the items on a sales order, the sales order is stamped by QuickBooks as "Invoiced in Full."
