Customer Type

Customer types let you group your customers in ways that are meaningful to your business. You can restrict a report to transactions related to a particular customer type.

To include

Do this

Two or more customer types

Click the Customer Type drop-down list, choose Multiple Customer Types, and then choose each customer type you want to include in the report.

One customer type only

Click the Customer Type drop-down list and choose the customer type from the last section of the list.

Example: A construction business uses customer types to group their customers by location. To limit a profit and loss report to profits from San Tomas county, select Class from the Filter scroll box, click the Class drop-down list, and then choose San Tomas Store. QuickBooks then excludes profits from all other counties from the report.
