Printer setup versus form-specific printing options

When you use the File menu Printer Setup command you can set up the printing options for any form. When you click Print on the toolbar of a specific form, you can change print options relevant to that form.

When you change a setting, QuickBooks remembers the change. For example, if you switch from standard checks to voucher checks, QuickBooks assumes that you are printing voucher checks the next time you print checks.

If you change a setting used by other forms or documents, QuickBooks remembers the change only for the current form or document. For example, if you switch to a different printer for invoices, QuickBooks continues to use the previous printer for all other business forms and documents. If you also wanted to use the new printer for printing checks, you would have to change the Printer Name setting for checks (in addition to invoices).
