To reopen your books, you must clear the current closing date. This gives
anyone with the proper permissions full access to transactions entered on or
before the closing date. If you have QuickBooks Premier or QuickBooks Enterprise, you can see
a history of your closing date changes in the Closing Date Exceptions
To do this task
Open the accounting preferences.
Click the Company Preferences tab.
In the Closing Date section, click the Set Date/Password button.
Delete the date shown in the Closing Date field.
