Write a business plan (New Business Checklist)

A business plan is a written document defining your business, its goals, and its direction. Creating a business plan will force you to think about your competition, take a hard look at your finances, and help set your business focus.

QuickBooks Premier contains a helpful Business Plan Tool that will lead you through the process of creating a thorough business plan in an easy-to-use, step-by-step fashion. The tool also helps you create a three-year financial projection for your business. The business plan is based on the format recommended by the U.S. Small Business Administration for loan applications or a bank line of credit.

If you don't have the QuickBooks Business Planner, you can create a plan on your own by following this business plan template.
