With multi-user QuickBooks, more than one user can work on the company file
at the same time.

With multi-user QuickBooks, you can do all the same activities that you would
normally do in QuickBooks. When more than one user needs to use the company
file, you can open it and switch to multi-user mode. Once the file is in multi-user mode, the other users you set up can now open that same file from another computer.
Some activities, such as backing up a file, can be done only when a single
user is working on the company file. QuickBooks makes it easy to switch to single-user
mode for those activities and then switch back to multi-user mode.
