Why export addresses?
You can export names and addresses from your QuickBooks lists for inclusion
in documents you create with a word processor or spreadsheet program. You can
export from all QuickBooks lists of names: Customer:Job, Vendor, Employee, and
Your company is moving and you want to send a letter to your customers and
vendors about your new address. Using your word processor, create a form letter
with mail merge fields where names and addresses will appear. Then in
QuickBooks select the names you want to merge with the form letter. This gives
you a tab-delimited file that contains name and address information for the
names you selected. When you merge the form letter with the file, the names and
addresses automatically appear in the form letter.
Go to the File menu, choose Utilities, choose Export, and then click Addresses to Text
Select the Names you want to use.
The groups of names you can use.
Two or more specific names
Click the Name drop-down list and choose Multiple names. Select each name you
want to include.
A category of names
Click the Name drop-down list and choose the category. For example, to limit the
report to vendors only, click the Name drop-down list and choose All Vendors.
One name only
Click the Name drop-down list and choose the customer, job, vendor, or employee from the last section of the list.
For the best results, the last line of addresses should contain only the
city, state, zip code, and country (if necessary). The comma after the city
name is optional, and the zip code
can be either 5 or 9 digits.
(Optional) Select the Include Jobs
Enter a filename for the names and addresses you selected.
This tab-delimited file contains name and address information for the names
