Use the Other Names list

How do I display this list?

Go to the Lists menu and click Other Names List.

What to store in this list

The Other Names list is for persons or companies that are neither customers, vendors, nor employees. For example, this list could include owners or partners.

You can move a name from this list to the Vendor, Employees, or Customers & Jobs lists. You can also select names from the Other Names list when you write checks or enter credit card charges.

Manage your other names

Click Other Names at the bottom of the list to add, edit, or delete names. You can make a name inactive, sort the list in alphabetical order, print the list, and more.

An icon in the Notes column indicates that there are notes associated with that person. Double-click the icon to view the notes.

When you edit a name, you can choose to change it to another list type.

  • If you want to print 1099 forms or enter purchase orders or bills for a name, use a vendor name type.

  • If you want to print W-2 forms or do payroll for a name, use an employee name type.

  • If you want to print P60 forms or do payroll for a name, use an employee name type.

  • If you want to enter estimates or sales for a name, use a customer name type.

To choose activities or view reports related to this list, click Activities or Reports at the bottom of the list.
