Analyze your inventory

You can quickly access information about your inventory using various reports, the Item List, and item definitions.

  • Inventory Valuation Summary report
    Lists all inventory items and shows the following information about each: quantity on hand, average cost, asset value, sales price, and retail value. This report also shows the total asset value and retail value of all inventory items combined.

  • Inventory Valuation Detail report
    Lists all inventory items and shows the transactions that affected the quantities and values of those items during a particular period of time. This report includes the following information about each item: the quantity increase or decrease per transaction, the purchase cost as recorded on bills and item receipts, quantity on hand, average cost, and asset value.

  • Valuation Summary by Site report
    (Only available if Advanced Inventory is enabled) Lists all inventory items at each site and shows the following information about each: quantity on hand, average cost, asset value, sales price, and retail value. This report also shows the total asset value and retail value of all inventory items combined. You can track multiple inventory sites with the Advanced Inventory add-on which is only available in QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions (additional fees may apply).   • Stock Status by Item report
    For each item, this report includes the quantity on hand, quantity on open sales orders, quantity reserved on pending assembly builds, quantity available, and the quantity on open purchase orders. In addition, the report shows which items are due to be reordered, when the next shipment of an item is scheduled to arrive, and the average sales per week for each item.

  • Stock Status by Site report
    (Only available if Advanced Inventory is enabled) For each item, this report includes the quantity on hand, quantity on open sales orders, quantity reserved on pending assembly builds, quantity available, and the quantity on open purchase orders. The report groups and totals this information by inventory site. In addition, the report shows which items are due to be reordered, when the next shipment of an item is scheduled to arrive, and the average sales per week for each item. You can track multiple inventory sites with the Advanced Inventory add-on which is only available in QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions (additional fees may apply).   • Stock Status by Vendor report
    Shows the same information as the stock status by item report, except that the inventory items are grouped by preferred vendor to help you when you reorder items.

  • Pending Builds report
    Lists all pending inventory assembly builds and their quantities.

  • Pending Builds by Site report
    (Only available if Advanced Inventory is enabled) Lists all pending inventory assembly builds and their quantities at each site. You can track multiple inventory sites with the Advanced Inventory add-on which is only available in QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions (additional fees may apply).   • Item Price List report
    Lists the prices of all inventory items.

  • Item QuickReport
    Lists chronologically within a date range all the transactions that contain a particular item. This report also shows the quantities of this item on open purchase orders.

  • Item List
    Shows the current status of all items, including the following information: quantity on hand, quantity on open sales orders, quantity on open purchase orders, quantity on pending assembly builds, last purchase cost, and sales price.

    1. Click Home.

    2. In the Company section, click Items & Services. Shortcut

      Inventory items will have Inventory Part or Inventory Assembly displayed in the Type column.

  • Item definitions
    Displays the following inventory information about a particular item: cost, sales price, reorder or build point, quantity on hand, average cost, quantity on open purchase orders, and quantity on open sales orders. You can also see Inventory Site information with the Advanced Inventory add-on which is only available in QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions (additional fees may apply).     1. Click Home.

    2. In the Company section, click Items & Services. Shortcut

    3. Find the inventory item in the list and double-click it.
