Ways to use a pending assembly build

Schedule future builds even if you don't have enough inventory in stock. When a customer purchases a product containing an assembly that you don't have in stock, set up the build order and mark it as pending. When component parts are added to inventory, mark the build as final.

Schedule builds that you or your employees will complete at a later time. You can use a pending build as a reminder to build assemblies later. If you have all the components needed for the build when you create the assembly item, but don't have time to physically build the assemblies right away, you can postpone building in QuickBooks by marking a build as pending. Then simply mark the build as final after the actual assembly units have been assembled.

With the exception of the pending builds report, pending builds do not appear in inventory reports.
