Choose how to condense inventory

Select one of the following options to tell QuickBooks how to condense your inventory-related transactions:

  • To remove inventory transactions and replace them with inventory adjustments, select Summarize inventory transactions. QuickBooks still retains all open inventory transactions.
  • To keep more inventory-related transactions, select Keep inventory transaction details. This option does remove inventory transactions. However, when the process reaches an open inventory transaction, it stops condensing inventory transactions. At that point, QuickBooks makes an inventory adjustment to summarize prices up to the date of that transaction. From that point forward, QuickBooks doesn’t remove any inventory transactions.
