QuickBooks has the following sample files that you can use as examples for
setting up your own QuickBooks company.
Sample product-based business is a construction business
that provides examples for both products and services. If you have a
product-based business, much of this information can be useful to you. This
sample file contains QuickBooks Pro and QuickBooks Premier features, such as
estimates and time tracking. This sample file is also of interest to
accountants because it contains fixed asset items that can be accessed from the
Fixed Asset Manager (QuickBooks Accountant editions only).
Sample service-based business is a landscaping business
that provides numerous services to its customers. If you have a service-based
business, much of this information can be useful to you. Although you can use
this sample file with QuickBooks Pro or QuickBooks Premier, it does not contain
any of the QuickBooks Pro or QuickBooks Premier features, such as estimates,
time tracking, or the ability to export report templates.
Go to the File menu and click Close Company.
This will close the company file that you currently have open.
In the No Company Open window, click the Open a Sample File button and choose the
sample company file you want to use.
