Change estimate numbers

For each new estimate you write, QuickBooks automatically increases the number by one. You can edit the estimate number by replacing the one that QuickBooks entered.

To do this task

  1. Open the estimate.

    Open the estimate.
  2. Enter a new number in the Estimate # field.

The plus (+) key increases the number by 1, the minus (-) key decreases the number by 1.

QuickBooks then picks up the numbering sequence from the new number. For example if you enter 100, QuickBooks numbers the next estimate as 101.

Note: You can have QuickBooks warn you if you enter a duplicate estimate number.
