Show markups on printed estimates

Normally, QuickBooks hides markups from the customer by printing only the price or rate after markup. If you want your customers to see the markup, you can customize your estimates so that the original cost and markup appear when you print your estimates.

To do this task

  1. Go to the Lists menu and click Templates. Shortcut

  2. Click Templates at the bottom of the list and click New.

  3. In the Select Template Type window, click Estimate.

  4. In the Customize Estimate window, click the Columns tab.

  5. In the Markup row, select the Print checkbox (a checkmark should appear in the box).

  6. Enter a name for the template and click OK.

  7. When creating estimates on which you want to show the markup on the printed copy, click the name of the template you've just created from the Form Template drop-down list in the Create Estimates window.
