Change the grid on a form layout

To do this task

  1. Open the Layout Designer.

"Open the Layout Designer topic goes here"
  2. Click Grid.

  3. (Optional) To change the interval between grid points, choose the interval you want from the drop-down list.

  4. (Optional) If you don't want objects to "snap" automatically to the nearest set of grid points, clear the Snap to grid checkbox.

What does "Snap to grid" mean?

The grid points help you line up the boxes, text, and other elements that appear on the form.

As you move and resize objects, you'll notice that they always align with points on the grid. If you place an object so that it is slightly "off," QuickBooks adjusts the object to align with the nearest row of grid points. This behavior is called snapping. If you would rather have objects stay exactly where you place them, you can turn snapping off.

  5. (Optional) If you don't want the grid to appear on your onscreen form, clear the Show grid checkbox.

  6. Click OK.
