Set the margins for a form (Layout Designer)

You can change the margins in the Layout Designer.

How do the margins in the Layout Designer relate to the margins I already set for my printer?

The main purpose of the margin settings in the Layout Designer window is to help you lay out the form with respect to the edges of the paper. The Layout Designer uses a light dashed rectangle to show the width of the current margins.

Changing the margins in the Layout Designer has no effect on the margin settings for your printer. If you make the Layout Designer margins too narrow for your printer, QuickBooks warns you that the width you have chosen is incompatible with your printer.

To do this task

  1. Open the Layout Designer.

"Open the Layout Designer topic goes here"
  2. Click the Margins button.

  3. Enter the margin sizes you want in the Left, Right, Top, and Bottom fields.

  4. Click OK.

Note: Check the new margins to be sure that none of the fields are outside the new margins.
