You can change the default title of the form when you view it onscreen and when you print it.
You can also change the way the title looks when the form is printed. For example, you can change the font, add a line or border around the title, and move the title to a different location.
Note: Changes to the appearance of the title show only when you print the form—not when filling out the form onscreen.
When would you want to change the title of the form?
You can change the title of a printed form to create a customized form that is specific to your business needs. For example:
You can change the title of the QuickBooks purchase order form from "Purchase Order" to
You can add your company name to the title of the form so that it appears at the top of the printed form.
If your company uses packing slips, you can create a form for packing slips by creating a custom invoice template and changing the title to "Packing Slip."
You can create a customized invoice for a specific customer named Lou by changing the title to "Lou's Invoices."
You can change the font style or properties of the title.
If you will print the form on a color printer, you can change the color of the font used for the title.
You can move the title to a different location on the form.
To do this task
Open the Additional Customization window.
To change the default title, click the Header tab and enter the new default title in the Title field.
To change the way the title appears on the printed form:
Click the Layout Designer button.
In the Layout Designer, do any or all of the following:
Move the title to a different position on the form
Change the font for the form title
Add borders or lines around the title
Add a background color to the title (if you will print the form on a color printer)
When done, click OK to close the Layout Designer window.
The title appears in the Preview section of the Additional Customization window. To see a larger image of the form, click the Print Preview button.
Note: These changes show only when you print the form—not onscreen.
Click OK to close the Additional Customization window.
