You can add a block of text—called long text in QuickBooks—to a printed form. Long text is any block of standardized text that you want to appear on a printed customized form. Examples include warranty information, contractual details, customer messages, or legal disclaimers. Long text does not appear when you fill out the form onscreen.
By default, long text is added in the bottom left corner of the form. After adding the text, you can move it to a different position on the form, change the size of the text block or the font style or color, and add a background color or border.
To do this task
Open the Additional Customization window.
Click the Footer tab.
Select the Print checkbox for Long Text.
Enter the text in the Title field.
Click the Layout Designer button to view or edit the text.
If you receive a message about overlapping fields, click Continue.
In the Layout Designer window, locate the long text at the bottom left corner of the form.
To move the text, click the first word of the long text to select the object and, while holding down the mouse button, drag the object to its new position.
To change the size of the text block, select the object and resize the object.
To change the font style or color, select the object and change the font properties.
To enclose the text block with a surrounding line, select the object and add a border.
To add a background color to the section (if you use a color printer), select the object and add a background color.
Check the rest of the form and move any other overlapping objects, if necessary.
When done, click OK to close the Layout Designer.
The text appears in the Preview section of the Additional Customization window. To see a larger image of the form, click the Print Preview button.
Note: These changes show only when you print the form—not onscreen.
Click OK to close the Additional Customization window.
