QuickBooks changes your income and expense categories into income and
expense accounts. Subcategories become income and expense subaccounts.
For example, if your Quicken data has these expense categories:
QuickBooks creates a "Utilities" expense account with
"Electricity," "Gas," and "Water" as subaccounts
The new income and expense accounts serve the same function as your
categories did in Quicken: they track how you earn and spend money.
