Load checks for reverse order printing

If you're printing checks on a reverse order printer (last page prints first), and you can't or don't want to change your printer settings to print front to back, here's how to load your checks.

First determine whether your printer feeds from the top or bottom of the paper stack, and whether it prints on checks facing up or facing down.

My printer feeds:

From the top of the paper stack, pages face up

  1. Load your checks face up, with the highest number check on top.

You can manually stack your checks from high to low, or you can order "reverse collate" checks that are prepackaged that way.

From the top of the paper stack, pages face down

  1. Stack your checks so the top check is the lowest number and the bottom check is the highest number.

  2. Flip the stack and load the checks face down.

The printer will grab the highest number check first, from the top of the face down stack.

From the bottom of the paper stack, pages face up
