Deposit loan money

  1. Go to the Banking menu and click Make Deposits.

  2. If the Payments to Deposit window is displayed, click Cancel to close the window.

    Note: The funds listed in the Payments to Deposit window have not been deposited. You need not do anything with them in order to complete this transaction.

  3. In the Make Deposits window, choose the account to deposit the money into.

  4. In the From Account column, enter the name of the liability account that you created to track this loan.

  5. In the Amount column, enter the amount you received.

  6. Save the deposit.

    Save the deposit.

QuickBooks adds the amount to the bank account and also creates a loan balance for that amount.
