Add a new lead

Use the Add Lead window to:

  • Add information about a new prospect and its contacts

  • Assign a status to a lead

To do this task

  1. If you haven't done so already, open the Add Lead window.

    1. Choose Company > Lead Center.

    2. Click the New Lead icon.

  2. In the Name field, enter the prospect's name.

    Note: Each lead must have a unique name. If you've already used the name, change it slightly by adding a character or number.

  3. (Optional) Set the lead status. Click the Status drop-down arrow and select an option.

  4. Use the Company and Contacts tabs to enter information about the prospect.

    Note: After you enter one or more locations in the Location field, you can click the Main Address drop-down arrow and select from the locations you've entered.

    Enter information for multiple contacts

    You can enter multiple contacts for each lead. To add additional contacts:

    1. Click the Contacts tab.

    2. Click the Add Another button.

    3. Enter information in the appropriate fields.

    4. (Optional) To change a field label, click the drop-down arrow next to that field and select an option.

  5. Click OK.
