Find and edit customer and job transactions

transactions

You can use the Customer Center to find and edit customer transactions.

You can also use the Find feature to locate specific transactions.

To find and edit transactions for a single customer or job

  1. Choose Customers > Customer Center.

  2. Click the Customers & Jobs tab.

  3. Select a customer or job from the list.

Transactions for that customer or job appear in the transaction list on the right side of the Customer Center. Can't see the transaction list?

If you can't see the transaction list because the Customers & Jobs list is expanded to the entire width of the Customer Center window, right-click the Customers & Jobs list and choose Show Customer List and Details.

You can change the contents of the Customers list to show All Customers, Active Customers, Customers with Open Balances, Customers with Overdue Invoices, Customers with Almost Due invoices or you can create your own custom filter. How?

Use the View list to change the set of customers and jobs you see.

    • Choose All Customers to see both your active and inactive customers and jobs.

    • Choose Active Customers to see only your active customers and jobs.

    • Choose Customers with Open Balances to see only your customers with any kind of open balance.

    • Choose Customers with Overdue Invoices to see only your customers with overdue invoices.

    • Choose Customers with Almost Due Invoices to see your customers with invoices that are almost due.

    • Choose Custom Filter to search your Customers & Jobs list for specific entries. For example, you might search for one particular customer, or all customers in a specific city.

  4. If you want to limit the transaction list to a particular type (for example, overdue statement charges or open invoices) over a particular date range (such as this month), use the Show, Filter By, and Date lists.

    1. In the transaction area, use the Show list to choose the type of transaction that appears in the list.

    2. Use the Filter By list to further specify the set of transactions you see. For example, if you're viewing invoices, you can choose to display all invoices, open invoices, or overdue invoices.

Note: The Filter By list options depend on the type of transaction you select. When you display All Transactions, the only Filter By option is All. Choose a specific type of transaction in the Show list to see more Filter By options.

    3. Use the Date list to restrict the date range for the transactions.

  5. Double-click any transaction to open that transaction for editing.

To find and edit transactions for all customers by type of transaction

  1. Choose Customers > Customer Center.

  2. Click the Transactions tab.

  3. Click one of the transaction types, such as Sales Orders, Invoices, or Statement Charges.

The transaction list on the right displays each instance of that transaction type.

  4. If you want to further limit the transactions you see, use the Filter By and Date lists.

    1. Use the Filter By list to narrow down the set of transactions for the particular type you have selected. For example, if you're viewing invoices, you can choose to display all invoices, open invoices, or overdue invoices.

The Filter By list contents depend on the type of transaction you select.

    2. Use the Date list to restrict the date range for the transactions.

  5. Double-click any transaction to open that transaction for editing.
