What are Merchant Service Reminders?
Merchant Service Reminders alert you when you have customer payments to download to QuickBooks. To receive Merchant Service Reminders, you must turn on the Service Messages settings in the Update QuickBooks dialog.
How often are Merchant Service Reminders updated?
Get Online Payments is updated once per day, when you open QuickBooks. In order for this option to work, the Automatic Update for Service Messages must be turned ON. If you want to update Get Online Payments more than once per day, you can force an update by going to the QuickBooks Help menu and clicking Update QuickBooks. Make sure the Service Messages option is selected. To see the results of the update, you must close the Home page, and then re-open it.
To turn on Merchant Service Reminders
Choose Help > Update QuickBooks.
The Update QuickBooks window opens.
Click the Options tab.
For the Automatic Update option, select Yes.
To turn on Merchant Service reminders, make sure Service Messages is selected. Note that Automatic Update must be set to "Yes" to select or deselect this setting.
