Select a cash receipts projection method

The Cash Flow Projector can automatically project your cash receipts. You also have the option of making these projections manually. In addition, you can change your projection method at any time to see how different scenarios may affect your cash flow activity.

By default, the value of initial cash receipts is set to a weighted average of your weekly cash receipts for the last six weeks. Changing projection methods clears the itemized cash receipts section of the Cash Flow Projector, and allows you to create your projection using a different cash receipts projection method.

Projection method selections

When you select a projection method for your cash receipts, you can choose:

  • I want to project cash receipts manually

Entering cash receipts manually requires you to enter information in the Date, Description, and Amount fields of the Itemized Cash Receipts section for each expected inflow of cash.
  • Use last 6 weeks

The Cash Flow Projector will take the last six weeks of historical cash receipts entries and duplicate them for upcoming weeks.
  • Use an average of last 6 weeks

The Cash Flow Projector will take the last six weeks of historical cash receipts entries and average them. The averaged amount will be duplicated for upcoming weeks.
  • Use a weighted average of last 6 weeks

The Cash Flow Projector will use the last six weeks of historical cash receipts entries and weight the most recent receipts as the most likely to occur. This averaged amount is duplicated for upcoming weeks.
  • Same 6 week period last year

The Cash Flow Projector will duplicate the historical cash receipts entries from the same six-week period one year ago.
  • Average of same 6 week period last year

The Cash Flow Projector will take the historical cash receipts entries from the same six-week period one year ago and average them. The averaged amount will be duplicated for upcoming weeks.
