Adjust row amounts for a budget

You can quickly adjust the amounts in your budget by a set value or by a percentage. When you select either Increase or Decrease and enter a number or percentage, the numbers in the rows of your budget will change accordingly.

Note: You can use any amount or percentage. Ten is just an example.

Use

Fill with the same amount.

10%

Increase each by 10%.

-10%

Decrease each by 10%.

Increase each by $10.

Decrease each by $10.

To do this task

  1. Select a cell in the budget.

  2. Click the drop-down list and choose either "1st month" or "Currently selected month."

  3. Specify whether to increase or decrease that amount for the remaining months by either a fixed amount or a percentage.

  4. Click OK.

Optional: If you chose "Currently selected month" in step 2, you can also select "Enable compounding." This option compounds the number entered in the Increase or Decrease field across the selected months.
