A/R Aging reports show invoices in the incorrect aging periods
Invoices are showing on the A/R Aging Reports with incorrect aging.
Why is this happening?
- If you change the report date to a later date, the aging appears more advanced.
- The terms you applied to an Invoice may not be set up correctly in the Terms List.
- Your Aging Report preference may be set to age from the invoice date rather than from the due date.
- You added Terms to the Edit Customer:Job window after you created the invoices. Terms added after invoices do not update existing invoices, which will age according to the default terms on the invoice.
How to fix?
Check the report date
- Assure the date range is the one you want.
- Go to Customize > Display > Advanced and assure those settings are correct.
Edit the terms in your Terms List
- In the menu bar, select Lists and then select Customer and Vendor Profile Lists.
- On the submenu, select Terms List.
- Double-click Terms for the Customer.
- Assure that the Terms are set up correctly.
- If not, correct them.
Check your Aging Preference
- Log in to your company data file as the Administrator and switch to single user mode.
- In the menu bar, select Edit and then Preferences.
- Select Reports and Graphs in the side bar then click Company at the top.
- At the bottom left select either Age from invoice date or Age from due date..
Check invoice for correct Terms and Due Date
- Run the A/R Aging Report.
- QuickZoom (double-click) on the Invoices that are not aging correctly.
- Insure that the Terms are set correctly. (You may have to add the Terms fields to the Invoice template.)
- Insure that a Due Date is entered on the Invoice (you may need to add the Due Date field to the Invoice template)
