Unable to move between fields in QuickBooks Desktop

When you press the Tab or Enter key to move between fields in QuickBooks Desktop, nothing happens.

How to fix it

Intuit recommends more than one solution for this problem. The first solution may solve your problem, or you may need to try all of them to resolve the issue. For best results, perform the solutions in the order shown.

Solution 1: Edit Preferences

  1. From the Edit menu, go to Preferences. 
  2. On the left pane, choose General then click the My Preferences tab. 
  3. Verify that there is a check mark in the box next to the Pressing Enter moves between fields selection.
  4. Close QuickBooks Desktop.
  5. Restart your computer.
  6. Reopen QuickBooks Desktop and verify you are able to use your Tab or Enter button to move between fields.

Solution 2:  Run Reboot.bat.

Solution 3:  Repair QuickBooks Desktop.
