Fixed asset account does not increase when fixed asset items are added

An item was added to the Fixed Asset Item list, or through the QuickBooks Fixed Asset Manager (FAM) but the balance sheet account used to track the asset is empty.


How to fix it

When assets are added to QuickBooks Desktop, they take up room in a list; but will not track value unless a transaction is used to record the purchase of the item.
