Unable to apply existing credits to an invoice after installing QuickBooks for Mac 2013 R7

After installing the QuickBooks for Mac 2013 R7 update, users are unable to apply existing credits to an open invoice.

How to update to the latest release

This issue has been resolved in the latest release for QuickBooks for Mac 2013.

Go to the Update to the Latest Release web page.

IMPORTANT:  Make sure your product is selected.  If not, click the Change link and select your QuickBooks product.

Select and follow the instructions for one of the update options:

  • Click the Update button to download the update file.
  • Click Setup Automatic Updates to learn how to set QuickBooks to automatically download and install the latest updates.
How to apply an existing credit to an invoice

Follow the steps below if you want to apply an existing credit to an invoice you created.

  1. In the Receive Payment window, put the check mark by the invoice you want the credit applied to.  This fills in the amount of the invoice in the top Amount window.
  2. Put the check mark in the box apply existing credit.
  3. If the top Amount box is not zero, highlight and change the Amount to zero.
  4. Save the transaction.
